A Place to Start Again
Tyler* had known the Mission for years. He’d been through the program before, and the Mission team had made sure he knew something important: You’re always part of the Mission family. If you ever need help, you can come back.
Years later, Tyler needed that open door.
He had returned to addiction and reached a point where he describes himself as “broken, spiritually bankrupt, and suicidal.” But he knew where he could turn.
“Knowing that the Mission was here and could help me brought me back,” Tyler says.
He remembered feeling safe. He remembered being loved. And now, he was ready for a fresh start.
“I just walk around the Mission now and I have this smile that I just can’t erase from my face.” – Tyler
As he began praying and meditating daily, his outlook started to change. Learning about God’s forgiveness helped him let go of a tremendous weight he had been carrying.
Soon, Tyler could see the difference in himself. And his story didn’t stop there.
Today, Tyler has graduated from the Mission’s program and moved into his own place. And the man who once came back needing another chance is now preparing to manage a clean-and-sober house — helping others as they work toward a fresh start of their own.
Because of generous friends like you, the Mission can be here when someone like Tyler is ready to reach for help — and begin moving from homelessness towards wholeness.
